A Direct Hybridization between Isocharged Nanosheets of Layered Metal Oxide and Graphene through a Surface‐Modification Assembly Process

Abstract: An efficient and universal method to directly hybridize isocharged nanosheets of layered metal oxide and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) is developed on the basis of the surface modification and an electrostatically driven assembly process. On the basis of this synthetic method, the CoO2 -rGO nanocomposite can be synthesized with exfoliated CoO2 and rGO nanosheets, and transformed into CoO-CoO2 -rGO nanocomposites with excellent electrode performance for lithium-ion batteries. Also, this surface-modification asse… Show more

“…As presented in Fig. 2 the restacked MoS 2 -graphene nanohybrids and restacked MoS 2 materials commonly demonstrate the porous morphology formed by the house-of-cards type stacking structure of the exfoliated MoS 2 and graphene nanosheets [18][19][20][21]. This is sharply contrasted with the non-porous morphology of the bulk MoS 2 (Fig.…”

“…Since the hybridization with exfoliated inorganic nanosheets relies on electrostatic interactions, it is necessary to modify the surface charge of exfoliated inorganic nanosheets for the synthesis of a nanohybrid composed of isocharged nanosheets. The surface anchoring of polycations, such as polydiallyldimethyl ammonium (PDDA) and polyethyleneimide (PEI), onto the exfoliated nanosheets changes the surface charge . As depicted in Figure d, the reaction between an anionic GO nanosheet and PDDA + polycations leads to the modification of the surface charge and the simultaneous reduction of GO to rGO.…”
