“…The detection and quantification of diclofenac, a highly efficient and widely consumed anti-inflammatory drug, in water and wastewater samples (in the range 0.3-15.9 mg L −1 ) have also been developed [165] by resorting to a polycyclodextrin containing a fluorescent dye. The optimal concentration of the sorbent was found to be 50 g mL −1 , and the limit of quantification of diclofenac was 0.3 mg L −1 .…”

“…A cross-linked CD-based polymer with enhanced affinity for diclofenac (a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug considered an emerging pollutant) was used to quantify the analyte in a municipal wastewater sample (Xiao et al, 2015). The method was based on the competitive displacement of fluorescein (a fluorescent dye) by the target analyte monitored by fluorescence polarization.…”

“…CD is composed of six, seven, or eight glucose units and has a cone-shaped structure with a hydrophilic exterior and a hydrophobic interior cavity. Among them, β-CD is the most widely used one because of its stable chemical structure, high water solubility, and wide host–guest inclusion complex via non-covalent bonding. It is found that β-CD/PAN membranes have moderate water-absorbing capacity but a fast water transport rate, meaning that the liquid sweat can be absorbed and drawn out quickly. The moderate water-absorbing capacity of β-CD/PAN also imparts good antistatic properties to it.…”
