A cubic boron nitride film-based fluorescent sensor for detecting Hg2+

Abstract: Cubic boron nitride (cBN) film-based sensors for detecting Hg2+ ions were developed by surface functionalization with dansyl chloride. To immobilize dansyl chloride, 3-aminopropyltriethoxy silane was modified on hydroxylated cBN surfaces to form an amino-group-terminated self-assembled monolayer. The covalent attachment of the amino groups was confirmed by x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The selectivity and sensitivity of the sensors to detect diverse metal cations in ethanol solutions were studied by using … Show more

“…8 Taking the detection of metal ions for example, the solution approach usually shows higher sensitivity compared with the fluorescent film sensors. 7,9 As fluorescent sensing materials, conjugated polymers (CPs) are considered to be one of the most promising candidates for fluorescent chemosensors due to the signal amplification effect 10 and the versatility in molecular designs. 11 Moreover, CPs have good processability and they can easily fabricate the spin-casting film used for actual sensing device implementation.…”
