A Control Method to Charge Series-Connected Ultraelectric Double-Layer Capacitors Suitable for Photovoltaic Generation Systems Combining MPPT Control Method

Abstract: Abstract-A control method is described to charge seriesconnected ultraelectric double-layer capacitors (ultra-EDLCs) suitable for photovoltaic generation systems in combination with a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) control method. The EDLC charge control method allows the maximum power acquired by the MPPT control to be quickly charged into seriesconnected ultra-EDLCs no matter how the weather conditions may change. In the MPPT control, the output current of the solar arrays is controlled so that the outp… Show more

“…Mishima and Ohnishi [5] proposed the electric double layer capacitors as the power compensation and system control to solve the mismatching problem under partially shaded condition. However, this method is less flexible due to the necessary an auxiliary control of relay for charging and discharging the capacitor.…”

“…In order to avoid the polarisation phenomena and to minimise double layer effects [17,18], the voltage applied The temperature characteristic curve in Fig. 10 was obtained using an oven with temperature control to impose the calibration points and to obtain the data required to calculate the linear regression of the temperature measuring channels characteristic.…”

“…Several models that are able to evaluate the effects of such uncertainties have been proposed in [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9], whereas the statistical methods have been used for the design of PV plants [10,11] and for the suitable choice of the electrical components [12,13]. When a PV plant is operating, a monitoring system to check the performance in all the environmental conditions is needed.…”
