“…The study explored the re3data registry portal and found that among the top 15 contributors to re3data registry, the European continent is on top with 10 countries, followed by Asia with three countries, and one country from each of North America and Oceania. Our findings are in tune with Bhardwaj (2019), who in his study found Europe as the top contributing continent followed by North America, but in this study, Asia has taken over North America and has taken second position. The USA is among the top contributing countries to re3data registry repositories, and as witnessed by Bashir et al (2019), the USA is also the most significant contributor to OpenDOAR.…”

“…Representation of Indian data repositories in the re3data.org has been an area of interest to many researchers since 2016. Over the years, these studies concentrated on the analysis of the metadata elements extracted from re3data.org for the Indian data repositories (Pradhan, 2016; Mondal, 2018; Shrivastava and Gupta, 2018; Bhardwaj, 2019; Wadhwa and Joshi, 2022). These studies mapped the current developments in data preservation in Indian repositories, their subject orientation, content types, data sets available for each repositories, etc.…”
