A new method for video signal processing is described in this paper. The purpose is real time image transformations at low cost, low power and small size hardware. This is impossible without special hardware. Here generalized digital differential analyzer(DDA) and control memory(CM) play a very important role to carry out them. Then, indentation which is called jaggy, is caused on the boundary of a background and a foreground accompanied with the processing. Jaggy does not occur inside of the transformed image because of adopting linear interporation. But it does inherently on the boundary of the backgroud and the transformed images. It causes deterioration of image quality, and must be avoid. There are two well-known ways to improve image quality, blurring and supersampling. In this case, the former does not have much effect, and the latter takes the much higher cost of computing. As a means of settling such a trouble, a method is proposed, which searches the positions that may arise jaggy and smooths only such points. Abstrucf -A programmable video signal processor (HD-Picot system) has been developed, which has 64 homogeneous processors and processes signals at video rate including conventional TV and HDTV signals, by adopting a reconfigurable structure and sophisticated control. The performance is about 14.3 giga operations per second, which can be increased by adding processors. Various functions are carried out by program, including spatio-temporal filtering, edge detection, motion-vector detection, geometric transformation, color processing, pattern matching, texture mapping, and image synthesis. It can be applied to a wide range of fields such as broadcasting, communication, machine vision, etc.
