Nowadays, due to the fierce market competition, the volume, complexity and requirements of projects are increasing, resulting in intensive communication in project teams. Statistics show that one out of five projects is unsuccessful due to ineffective communication. The role of emotional intelligence in project management has been little studied, but it is believed that promoting emotional intelligence can improve internal communication within the project team. The aim of the research was to study the emotional intelligence and internal communication correlation of project managers and team members in organization “X” in order to develop proposals for the management of organization “X” for promoting emotional intelligence and improving internal communication. The emotional intelligence of project managers and team members was measured by using a survey of emotional and social intelligence competencies. Internal communication in project teams was assessed by using a survey based on aspects of effective internal communication within the project team. The results of the study showed that there is a statistically significant and strong correlation between emotional intelligence of project managers and team members and internal communication in project teams. “Self-management” and “social awareness” or the ability to adapt to other people were identified as the most important competencies of emotional intelligence which are required in order to improve internal communication.

Celem artykułu jest, po pierwsze, identyfikacja aspektów procesów komunikacji i dokumentacji w rozproszonych, międzynarodowych zespołach projektowych, które powinny być monitorowane w celu zapewnienia skutecznej komunikacji projektowej, a po drugie, zaproponowanie połączonego podejścia do pomiaru wydajności komunikacji projektowej. Identyfikacja aspektów, które powinny być monitorowane, opiera się na analizie literatury i wcześniejszych badaniach. Zaproponowane podejście łączy dwie metody, które razem umożliwiają wszechstronny pomiar wydajności komunikacji w ramach projektu. Pierwsza z nich to kwestionariuszowa analiza wydajności komunikacji i jej postrzegania przez członków zespołu. Druga polega na analizie bazy danych rekordów projektu. Połączone podejście do monitorowania i pomiaru wydajności komunikacji projektowej zastosowano dla konkretnego przypadku międzynarodowego projektu. Uzyskane wyniki pokazują, że proponowane podejście zapewnia kompleksowy wgląd w procesy komunikacji i dokumentacji w projekcie, oparty zarówno na obiektywnych danych pozyskanych z bazy danych, jak i na opiniach członków zespołu, dostarczając informacji o ewentualnych problemach i niepokojących sytuacjach.

The management of the study program has the same management principles and functions as the management in general, that is to provide guidance in order to act systematically in achieving what has been planned properly, effectively, and efficiently. Communication skill become the important factor in success the management project that is planned. The failure in managing the communication will make the situation become difficult to be controlled and often being the greatest threat for the success of a plan. This research was aimed to know the communication management in managing Communication Department of Fajar University Makassar. The method used was case study with deep interview and document analysis as the technique of data collection. The research result showed that the process of communication management organized by Communication Department were planning, implementation, and evaluation which refer to Strategic Plan (Renstra) that was designed to be runned within five years. Business and Management Research, volume 75 communicate and how the information be provided to them In terms of implementation, the communication process will ensure that all teams have got the information they need. If the right person should be kept informed with the right information at the right time, then the steps that can be used are: Advances in Economics, Identify the information that needs to be communicated  Determining the target audience for communication  Decide on the communication format and timing  Draft and gain approval where required  Communicate the message, through formal communication channels  Gather feedback and improve the project communication process By using this communication process, a manager is able to clearly identify the stakeholders, identify their communication needs and ensure the right people receive the right information at the right time.This communication process should be used when wanting to communicate formally within an organization. By using communication management planning, a manager can ensure that no miscommunication occurs. Moreover, as a part of the communication process, managers also receive feedback both during the process and after the process. It is to ensure that future communication will be improved.The importance of communication management in the success of a project can ensure that the flow of information reaches the right person so that the communications built happen effectively. Evaluations of a plan that has been implemented to improve the communication process are as follows: Improving communication skills to resolve conflicts, whether caused by priorities, technical problems, personality, staffing, procedures or processes  Developing communication skills through training to apply technical skills and concepts to build relationships and improve communication  Creating and using templates, standards and general guidelines for communicating.
