Summary Energy internet (EI) is a complex coupled multienergy system; it is essential to investigate its multienergy dispatching optimization issues. To this end, this paper first proposes a novel conception of smart dispatching for EI with a complex cyber‐physical‐social system (CPSS) network from the perspective of parallel dispatch, called parallel dispatching robot (PDR), and investigates the implementations of PDR based on smart artificial society (SAS) modeling. First, we introduce EI and describe the dispatching issues of EI. Second, we discuss several important concepts supporting the parallel dispatch conception of EI, including knowledge automation (KA), CPSS, and parallel machine learning (PML). On the basis of these, we elaborate the concept of parallel dispatch. Moreover, we construct a large closed‐loop feedback control framework of parallel dispatch for EI integrating a CPSS network based on KA and PML. Third, we establish an experimental platform for PDR research based on the proposed parallel dispatch framework. Fourth, we develop the PML‐based SAS models of a single PDR in centralized dispatching modes and group PDRs in decentralized dispatching modes to achieve crowd wisdom emergence and performance improvement in current cyber‐physical system frameworks of EI. Moreover, we design an external global closed loop for PDR to evaluate its operation stability. Lastly, we conduct a detailed discussion on PDR and offer some prospects for its engineering implementations. The biggest innovation of this paper lies in systematically proposing the smart dispatching concept and framework for complex CPSS‐based EI from the perspective of parallel dispatch and thoroughly investigating how to use SAS modeling to implement parallel dispatching and control for EI considering human and social factors, which is a major extension and theoretical improvement to existing single smart wide area robot concept and a preliminary attempt in investigating a shift from Energy 4.0 to Energy 5.0 in China.

Summary To full use clean energy to meet load demand of electrical and thermal, the paper proposed a novel concept of virtual energy plant (VEP) including wind power plant (WPP), photovoltaic power generation (PV), combined heat and power generation (CHP), solar collectors (SC), electric boiler (EB), heat storage tank (HSK), and incentive‐based demand response (IBDR). Firstly, the basic structure of VEP is designed, including three subsystems, namely, electricity, heating, and energy storage. Then, a basic scheduling model is constructed under the objective of maximizing operating revenue without considering uncertainty. Thirdly, the conditional value at risk (CVaR) method and the robust optimization theory are used to handle the uncertainty factors in objective functions and condition constraints, and the risk aversion scheduling model is proposed. Finally, industrial park group in northern China are chosen, for example, analysis results show (1) VEP could convert the abandoned clean energy, use HSK to store heating energy during the valley load period, and supply heating energy in the peak period to obtain the excess economic benefits. (2) Lower‐prediction accuracy will amplify the uncertainty risk, when the robust β∈[0.8,0.825]&(0.925,1], the increase of confidence level β will lead to larger increase in CVaR. Especially when β∈(0.925,1), decision makers are extremely disgusted with the risks brought by the uncertainty factors, and correspondingly, the output of clean energy becomes minimum. (3) When the capacity ratio of HSK, EB and the electricity price of peak, valley are lower than 3, the values of revenue, VaR and CVaR change faster, but the ratios are larger than 3, the values change slower, which indicates that the scale of HSK capacity needs to be properly controlled to optimize the use of clean energy, and price‐based demand response could improve the operation profit while controlling risk properly. In general, the proposed scheduling model can maximize the use of clean energy to obtain economic benefits while rationally controlling risks.

Summary This paper develops an efficient energy management approach to increase the renewables share in energy provision of smart distribution grids (SDGs). Voltage violation ends in curtailment of renewables generations and, hence, decreases the economic success of distribution companies. To avert such deficits, this study fosters the collaboration of SDG components in an intelligent Volt/VAr control process. The investigated SDG is characterized with high penetration of photovoltaics (PVs), dispatchable distributed generations (DDGs), plug‐in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), and infield control devices say as under‐load tap‐changing transformers (ULTCs). In charge stations, PHEVs are coupled to the SDG through bidirectional inverters which are offering simultaneous exchanges of active and reactive powers. Thus, regarding the PHEV aggregators, optimal schedules of active power charge/discharge signals with their inductive/capacitive reactive power provisions are determined. This notion effectively increases PV power injections and, consequently, provides significant monetary savings. Besides, this mechanism reduces ULTC tap operations in Volt/VAr control process maintaining its nominal lifetime. The proposed approach is formulated as a mixed‐integer non‐linear programming (MINLP) and solved based on DICOPT solvers in general algebraic modeling system (GAMS). Effectiveness of the proposed approach is explored on a typical distribution test system. The obtained results show 8.94% increment in harvested PVs power and hence 5.24% reduction on daily operation cost of SDG.
