A Comprehensive Approach to Well-Integrity Management in Adma-Opco

Abstract: The last few years have seen a renewed emphasis on Well Integrity (WI) worldwide, and ADMA-OPCO in particular. ADMA operates, more than 600 wells, in two offshore fields, which include oil producers, water injectors, gas producers/injectors and observation wells. A dedicated team was setup to focus entirely on WI and related issues. The team was given the objective to achieve the following. The team used a comprehensive and novel approach for handling this project. This pape… Show more

“…For centuries people have speculated on how to improve decision making, and a formal approach to decision and risk analysis can be traced through the works of Bayes and Price (1763), Laplace (1902), Ramsey (1931), De Finetti (1931, 1937, von Neumann and Morgenstern (1944), Bernoulli (1954), and Savage (1954). Over the last several decades, important supporting fields have been integrated to provide a discipline, decision analysis, 11 with the objective of informing and supporting decision making in complex and uncertain environments (e.g., such as many of the risk-management decisions we face in the O&G industry).…”

“…Most studies focus on the relationship between the rise of the annular pressure and wellbore casing temperature with the leakage rate. SCANNELL, a Norwegian company, designed and manufactured an annular leakage rate measurement sled to realize the real-time detection of multiple annular leakage points at the wellhead and the calculation of the annular leakage rate based on annular pressure changes, which has been successfully applied in the field [17]. Wu et al proposed an algorithm for locating the leakage point of production strings based on the U-shaped tube principle and established a tool for predicting the location of tubing leakage under the continuous casing pressure of offshore gas wells based on the pressure difference and probability distribution [18].…”
