A Competitive Bio-Barcode Amplification Immunoassay for Small Molecules Based on Nanoparticles

Abstract: A novel detection method of small molecules, competitive bio-barcode amplification immunoassay, was developed and described in this report. Through the gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) probe and magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) probe we prepared, only one monoclonal antibody can be used to detect small molecules. The competitive bio-barcode amplification immunoassay overcomes the obstacle that the bio-barcode assay cannot be used in small molecular detection, as two antibodies are unable to combine to one small molecul… Show more

“…There are five types of labeled immunoassays: radioimmunoassay (RIA), fluorescence immunoassay (FIA), chemiluminescence immunoassay (CLIA), enzyme‐linked immunoassay (ELISA), and bio‐barcode immunoassay, and they are employed as biosensing analytical tools [194,195]. Among them, the enzyme‐based biosensors for analyzing pesticides and veterinary drugs have attracted tremendous interest owing to their fast response, reliability, selectivity, and high sensitivity [196]. A list of representative pesticides and veterinary drugs, which were determined by various immunoassays, is presented in Table 3 .…”

“…The method showed a linear range of 0.01–20 μg/L, and the LOD was 6 ng/L. Du et al [99] , [100] established a bio-barcode competitive immunoassay method based on a microplate platform. By designing different DNA strands, the detection of triazophos pesticides was realized.…”
