A compensation strategy for parallel inverters to achieve precise weighting current distribution

Abstract: This paper proposes a compensation strategy for parallel inverters to achieve weighting current distribution. In addition to the conventional current weighting distribution control (CWDC), the reference current of each inverter is fed back as a compensation signal to improve weighting current distribution. With the proposed compensation strategy, the output current of each inverter module can precisely track weighting current command. Experimental and simulated results from a three-inverter system with equal o… Show more

“…In the control strategy it is selected v * 2o = v * 3o = v * 4o = 0. Because of (5), voltages v * g0 12 , v * l012 , v * g0 34 , and v * l034 can not be chosen independently. If the relation (5) …”

“…3(a) presents the control block diagram for configuration I. The capacitor dc-link voltages v C12 and v C34 are adjusted to their reference values v * C 12 and v * C 34 using the controller R C12 and R C34 , respectively (conventional PI type controllers). Those controllers provide the amplitude of the reference currents i * 1a and i * 3a .…”

“…Several approaches have been proposed to get proper voltage synchronization [12][13][14][15]. In [12], the authors utilize a synchronization control unit (SCU) that uses microcontroller to generate a synchronous signal and sends it to each parallel connected inverter in every line cycle. This approach depends on the SCU and the synchronization is affected if the SCU fails.…”
