A Comparative Study of Dexmedetomidine and Clonidine as Premedicant on Intraocular Pressure and Haemodynamic Changes in Non-Ophthalmic Surgeries

Abstract: BACKGROUNDLaryngoscopy and tracheal intubation are associated with hypertension, tachycardia, increased circulating catecholamines and increase in intraocular pressure. Aim of this study is to compare the effect of IV Dexmedetomidine and IV Clonidine premedication on the intraocular pressure changes, haemodynamic responses after succinylcholine injection and intubation.
