The Semantics of Business Vocabulary and Rules (SBVR) standard was developed by the Object Management Group (OMG) for business purposes. SBVR is used for transformation of business vocabulary and business rules into business processes. Gateways are used for regulating the divergence and convergence of flow objects in the business process. The existing business rules in SVBR do not support all gateways in BPMN, whereas there are conditions where branching situations in business rules occur. This article introduces parallelism rules (OR rules) and complex rules to increase 50.6% usage of the existing AND rules and XOR rules in SBVR. The main contribution of this research is to introduce new formal model of inclusive gateway (OR) and complex gateway that allow parallelism and branching to be modeled using SBVR. Thus, this study increases coverage of the usage gateway in SBVR achieved 66.7%. The authors provide branching cases with various levels of complexity, i.e. nested conditions and non-free choice conditions, using the formal description of SBVR.

is an agency that organizes archiving and library functions. Library management in Batu City is carried out by the Library Division. The duties and functions of the Information Office in the implementation are in accordance with good governance management, namely transparency, accountability, and based on consensus. Business activities carried out in the office are not completely recorded in a standard document in the form of a procedure. Through official procedures, the definition and implementation environment of activities can be determined which can be used as a reference for each official activity. Procedures as a guidance document for each activity in the office need to be written in a graphic form that can make it easier for stakeholders to understand activities and make it easier for those implementing the technology management function to understand the needs through the risks that arise from each activity. Miscommunication and decreasing quality of service in the management of libraries, reading gardens and mobile libraries often occur, especially in connection with problems caused by the absence of written references within the office. Based on these reasons, it is necessary to formulate a process model of activities in the office. Documenting a process model that will truly provide higher quality benefits because it is based on clear references, it can prevents miscommunication, prevents security threats, and increases the transparency of processes that have been happening in the office. The compilation model is carried out through the activity of respondent data, which previously carried out the determination through the RACI Chart technique. Data collection was carried out through surveys so that an output was formed in the form of business process abstracts according to each stakeholder in the agency. After validation, the process will be compiled using the BPMN modeling language so that a standard model is obtained from the mobile library.

A BIM-driven framework for integrating rules and regulations in the decommissioning of nuclear power plants

Purpose The relatively low capital cost and contributions to mitigating global warming have favoured the continuous construction and operation of nuclear power plants (NPPs) across the world. One critical phase in the operation of nuclear plants for ensuring the safety and security of radioactive products and by-products is decommissioning. With the advent of digital twinning in the building information modelling (BIM) methodology, efficiency and safety can be improved from context-focus access to regulations pertaining to demolition of structures and the cleaning-up of radioactivity inherent in nuclear stations. The purpose of this study, therefore, is to propose a BIM-driven framework to achieve a more regulation-aware and safer decommissioning of nuclear power plants. Design/methodology/approach The framework considers task requirements, and landscape and environmental factors in modelling demolition scenarios that characterise decommissioning processes. The framework integrates decommissioning rules/regulations in a BIM linked non-structured query system to model items and decommissioning tasks, which are implemented based on context-focussed retrieval of decommissioning rules and regulations. The concept’s efficacy is demonstrated using example cases of digitalised NPPs. Findings This approach contributes to enhancing improvements in nuclear plant decommissioning with potential for appropriate activity sequencing, risk reduction and ensuring safety. Originality/value A BIM-driven framework hinged on querying non-structured databases to provide context-focussed access to nuclear rules and regulations and to aiding decommissioning is new.
