The last 20-year announcement predicts a 3.5% increase in the number of yearly passengers which will result in the doubling of the number of passengers in air transport by 2037. Such anticipation indicates the need for efficient monitoring of airport infrastructure as the support of opportune and efficient maintenance works. The novelties of this article are a process model of maintenance and monitoring, suitable for smaller and less burdened airports, and the methodology of monitoring of runways by implementation of the geodetic and geomechanics falling weight deflectometer (FWD) method. In addition, the results confirm the assumption that a specific environment such as an airport allows for sufficiently reliable determination of deformation areas or areas of vertical deviations of runways in a relative short time period available for measurements by using geodetic methods only or by combining other methods; our research model includes the FWD method. With the research, we have also shown there is an interaction between deformations or areas of vertical deviations on the surface and anomalies in the runway lower constructure which will, hereinafter, allow the development of the prediction, creating a vertical deviations or deformation model.

A new catering mode is introduced into an existing catering service system for high-speed railways. This flexible catering system for high-speed railways aims to make order allocation decisions and service sequencing decisions under tight time constraints. A departure time and route selection model is established to coordinate the delivery times of the orders with the departure times of the trains to mitigate conflicts between the delivery cost and service level. Sequential constraints are reformulated as soft constraints, and an analytical algorithm is designed to solve for the optimal catering vehicle departure time for a given path. The problem is already complex due to its similarity to the vehicle routing problem with time windows (VRPTW). In particular, the route-dependent lead time and constraint-dependent departure time selection make the problem more complex. Therefore, a simulated annealing algorithm based on a variable neighborhood search (VNS-SA) is employed to solve the model. Finally, a random road network experiment is performed to verify the model and algorithm, and the algorithm's performance and computational efficiency with different combinations of subalgorithms are compared and analyzed. This study addresses a parallel machine production and transportation operations’ scheduling problem with a tight time window associated with the transfer and delivery process. The orders located at the parallel machines need to be delivered to customers by train. Each order must be processed within a limited completion time in order for the product to be matched with the optimal trip to its destination within the delivery period. A mathematical analysis method is used to reveal the impact of tight time windows on the scheduling of production and transportation operations. The order transfer redundancy time and order transfer waiting time are employed to reflect the impact scheduling of production on the transfer process. The order delivery redundancy time and order delivery waiting time are used to describe delivery operations. The goal is to maximize the coordination level of order transfer and delivery, which are reflected in the order transfer time and the order delivery time, respectively. Additionally, a simulated annealing algorithm using the column generation technique was developed to solve this problem. The results show that the use of the system coordination model in this method obviously improves the number of successful transfers and deliveries.
