A clinicopathological study on verrucous hyperplasia and verrucous carcinoma of the oral mucosa

Abstract: Clinicopathological features of VH and VC in China were elucidated. Elderly patient with oral verrucous lesion located on the lower lip correlates with higher risk of carcinoma.

In addition, Zhu et al 37 demonstrated that VH located on the lower lip had a higher risk of malignant transformation compared with other sites. Despite the rarity of VH in Western countries, it is a quite common oral premalignant lesion in Taiwan.…”
