In Rahul Katta study [13] , majority of the fractures occurred at middle third (62 cases, 52%) followed by distal third of tibia (41 cases, 34%) and proximal third of tibia (17 cases, 14%).In Radhakrishna A.M et al study [4] , majority of the fractures occurred at middle third shaft of tibia (18 cases,59.94%) followed by lower third fracture (7 cases, 23.31%) and proximal third of tibia shaft (5 cases, 16.65%). We had 19 patients (38%) who presented with distal 3rd tibia shaft fractures which are more prone to non-union because of poor vascularity in distal tibia region.…”
