“…However, there have been few reports of chemotherapy for metastatic liver tumor from carcinoma of the papilla of Vater, and there is no evidence suggesting a beneficial effect of such chemotherapy on prognosis in these patients. Seyama et al 7 reported a patient with multiple metastases of carcinoma of the papilla of Vater who showed a complete response to intrahepatic arterial infusion of 5-fluorouracil (FU) and low-dose cisplatin. Even in this patient, however, the complete response in the liver metastases lasted for only 4 months, and a survival of only 1 year was documented after the liver metastases had been detected.…”
