“…There have been cases which have shown remaining carcinoid tumors in the remnant stomach [1 1]. Carcinoids are thought to develop from neoplastic change in the ECM in the fundic gland area [7]. So, in the treatment of multiple gastric carcinoid with type A gastritis, total gastrectomy with lymph node dissection is concluded to be the recommended standard operative procedure, in order to resect thefundic gland area completely which could be the origin of carcinoids and ECM.…”
