“…Including our report, the literature describes 79 cases of IDCN (Table , Tables S1 and S2, and Appendix S1, Supporting Information), mostly as skin lesions (91%) and almost always in the form of papules and/or nodules involving the head, chest, back, axillae, groins and/or extremities; but sparing the palms and soles. Plaques or patches were described in only 5 cases . Two reported cases showed extensive facial involvement in the form of leonine facies .…”

“…While the extent of involvement may be variable, most reported cases of ICH described lesions that were smaller in size and fewer in number compared to the extensive, confluent and lumpy nature of the lesions in our patient. Apart from one other case report of indeterminate dendritic cell tumor in whom the presentation was that of a leonine facies, our patient's florid, and disfiguring clinical presentation has not been reported in ICH before. Instead, the extensive involvement of the face and generalized lesions on the trunk and limbs had prompted an initial suspicion of progressive nodular histiocytosis (PNH).…”

“…The current case is of particular interest because of its unique morphology and cutaneous presentation. Leonine facies are rare (2), and are more frequent in association with lepromatous leprosy (3), cutaneous T-cell lymphomas (4, 5), lichen myxoedematosus (LM) (6), and pachydermoperiostosis (7) ( Table I). Clinical and histopathological features can help to differentiate these conditions from ICH (8)(9)(10)(11).…”
