BackgroundIt is widely accepted that traumatic brain injury (TBI) increases the risk of developing long-term dementia, although some controversies surrounding this topic exist. Annually, approximately 69 million individuals suffer from TBI all around the world. Such a large population of TBI patients could lead to a future surge in the number of dementia patients. Due to the potentially severe consequences of TBI, various research projects on post-TBI dementia have emerged worldwide. Therefore, it is essential to comprehend the current status and development of post-TBI dementia for future research.ObjectiveThe purpose of the study was to provide an overview of the field and identify hotspots, research frontiers, and future research trends for post-TBI dementia.MethodsArticles related to post-TBI dementia were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection for the period between 2007 and 2022, and analyzing them based on factors such as citations, authors, institutions, countries, journals, keywords, and references. Data analysis and visualization were conducted using VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and an online bibliometric platform (https://bibliometric.com).ResultsFrom 2007 to 2022, we obtained a total of 727 articles from 3,780 authors and 1,126 institutions across 52 countries, published in 262 journals. These articles received a total of 29,353 citations, citing 25,713 references from 3,921 journals. Over the last 15 years, there has been a significant upward trend in both publications and citations. The most productive country was the United States, the most productive institution was Boston University, and the most productive author was McKee AC. Journal of Neurotrauma has been identified as the periodical with the greatest number of publications. Three clusters were identified through cluster analysis of keywords. A burst in the use of the term “outcome” in 2019 is indicative of a future research hotspot. The timeline view of references showed 14 clusters, of which the first 4 clusters collected the majority of papers. The first 4 clusters were “chronic traumatic encephalopathy,” “age of onset,” “tauopathy,” and “cognitive decline,” respectively, suggesting some areas of interest in the field.ConclusionThe subject of post-TBI dementia has raised much interest from scientists. Notably, America is at the forefront of research in this area. Further collaborative research between different countries is imperative. Two topical issues in this field are “The association between TBI and dementia-related alterations” and “chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE).” Studies on clinical manifestation, therapy, pathology, and pathogenic mechanisms are also popular in the field.

Background: Non-coding RNA (ncRNA) is a type of RNA that does not code for proteins and plays a crucial role in the onset, progression, diagnosis, and therapy of acute pancreatitis. However, bibliometric, and visual analyses of studies on acute pancreatitis and ncRNA are lacking. This study seeks to provide a bibliometric overview of the knowledge structure and research hotspots of ncRNA in the field of acute pancreatitis research. Materials and methods: Literature search and collection of information in the field of ncRNA-related research in acute pancreatitis from 2000-2023 through the Web of Science Core Collection. Use CiteSpace and VOSviewer to visually analyze countries, institutions, authors, and keywords. Results: A total of 563 articles have been published in the field of ncRNA-related research in acute pancreatitis, and the number of publications in this field is gradually increasing. The largest number of publications was from China. Four clusters were produced by the co-occurrence cluster analysis of the top 89 keywords: studies of ncRNA in inflammation, autophagy, and apoptosis in acute pancreatitis; studies related to microRNA expression in pancreatic cancer among ncRNA; studies related to microRNAs as diagnostic and therapeutic markers in acute pancreatitis; and studies related to ncRNA in acute pancreatitis; The key words “injury,” “pathway” and “extracellular vesicles” are the key words of emerging research hotspots. Conclusion: In conclusion, ncRNA research in acute pancreatitis is an established discipline. Researchers can use the research hotspots and frontiers in this field as a guide for choosing their research direction.

Background Atherosclerosis（AS）is a common chronic vascular inflammatory condition. Early detection and diagnosis are important for reducing residual risk.Biomarkers can reveal the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment characteristics. In recent years, a number of studies have been carried out to search for biomarkers with high sensitivity and specificity for the diagnosis of AS, but there are still no such studies. This paper systematically reviews studies related to atherosclerosis biomarkers to provide guidance for further research. Objective We conducted a bibliometric analysis of the scientific publications in the last 10 years to identify the key progress, hotspots and emerging trends related to atherosclerosis biomarkers. Methods Original studies and reviews regarding to atherosclerosis biomarkers were retrieved from the Web of Science core collection(WoSCC) database. Microsoft Excel 2019,CiteSpace6.1,VOSviewer1.6.16 and bibliometrix were used to map the annual publication,major journals and performed visualization analysis of keyword co-occurrence,cluster,timeline and keyword burst. Results A total of 3,381 articles were finally included. The United States (26.09%) and China (18.87%),accounted for nearly half of the world’s publications. Johns Hopkins University, Harvard Medical School and the University of Washington were the most common publication institutions. Ballantyne christie M, Blaha michael J and Budoff matthew J had the most publications in this field. Articles in this area have been widely published in Atherosclerosis, PlOS One, Journal Of The American Heart Association.All the studies calculated by keyword co-occurrence were divided into four clusters: “atherosclerosis”, “risk”, “coronary heart disease”and“cardiovascular disease”. Hot topics mainly focused on “Pulse wave velocity”, “C-reactive protein”,“intimal media “Non-coding RNAs” ,“extracellular vesicles” and“neutrophil extracellular traps” were identified as the potential trends. Conclusions The research trend of atherosclerosis biomarkers is manifested in the gradual deepening of the research content and the development toward a more detailed level. However, there are still some problems, such as a lack of high-quality research and relatively simple methods.
