Cross‐virtuality analytics (XVA) is a novel field of research within immersive analytics and visual analytics. A broad range of heterogeneous devices across the reality–virtuality continuum, along with respective visual metaphors and analysis techniques, are currently becoming available. The goal of XVA is to enable visual analytics that use transitional and collaborative interfaces to seamlessly integrate different devices and support multiple users. In this work, we take a closer look at XVA and analyse the existing body of work for an overview of its current state. We classify the related literature regarding ways of establishing cross‐virtuality by interconnecting different stages in the reality–virtuality continuum, as well as techniques for transitioning and collaborating between the different stages. We provide insights into visualization and interaction techniques employed in current XVA systems. We report on ways of evaluating such systems, and analyse the domains where such systems are becoming available. Finally, we discuss open challenges in XVA, giving directions for future research.

<p>Virtual Reality (VR) is currently popular technology that has been used by people in various areas such as architecture, medical, training and many more. In this paper, the researcher proposed collaborative VR for interior design that allows customer and designer work together at different location. Commonly, the designer draw their design in two-dimensional (2D) graphics at the drawing paper and presents to the customer. However, 2D drawings led to an ambiguity, indistrinct and uncertainty on the design. In addition, redesign any changes lead to re-build the prototype. These will be costly and wasting time, therefore, researcher proposed collaborative VR application which provide an intense feelings about the design which is presented in form of three-dimensional (3D) graphics. Additionally, proposed application would allow the designer and customer to work in real-time. In conclusion, collaborative VR will give the benefits for interior design manufacturing to prosper along with current technology.</p>

ABSTRACTThe industry uses immersive virtual environments for testing engineering solutions. Annotation systems allow capturing the insights that arise during those virtual reality sessions. However, those annotations remain in the virtual environment. Users are required to return to virtual reality to access it.We propose a new annotation system for VR. The design of this system contains two important aspects. First, the digital representation of the annotations enables to access the annotation in both virtual and physical world. Secondly, the interaction technique for taking notes in VR is designed to enhance the feeling of bringing the annotations from the physical world to the virtual and vice versa. We also propose the first implementation of this design.
