Daraus ergibt sich die Anforderung an das Innovationsmanagement exploitativ und/oder explorativ zu sein. Zur Strukturierung des Innovationsmanagements können dabei unterschiedliche Formen der Ambidextrie genutzt werden. Diese ermöglichen verschiedene Varianten zur Nutzung klassischer, agiler oder hybrider Projektmethoden. Die Entscheidung darüber kann anhand bestimmter Kriterien getroffen werden. Relevant sind dabei Charakteristika des Projekts, aber auch Besonderheiten des Unternehmens.
