“…Prior to this work, Zhang and co-workers reported the use of the ionic liquid 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium ethylsulfate to direct the synthesis of the mixed-valence tin sulfate TOC-34 with a cluster-like structure . Several low-dimensional tin halosulfates, such as [C 6 N 2 H 14 ]­[SnCl 2 SO 4 ], (C 10 H 10 N 2 ) 0.5 [SnF­(SO 4 )], (C 2 H 10 N 2 )­[Sn 2 F 2 (SO 4 ) 2 ]·2H 2 O, and (C 4 H 14 N 2 ) 0.5 [SnFSO 4 ], were prepared in the presence of organic dications . The presence of halide ions as terminal ligands bound to tin centers and the lone pair electrons on the tin­(II) centers are the main factors to produce low-dimensional structures in these tin halosulfates.…”
