Abstract: The proliferation of Theileria annulata macroschizont-infected cell lines in vitro was significantly inhibited by nitric oxide (NO) generated by S-nitroso-N-acetyl-DL-penicillamine (SNAP). Incubation with SNAP caused the macroschizonts to disappear and host cells to become apoptotic.
