918 the Morphology and Molecular Expression of Different Genes in the Prostate Ventral Lobe of Adult Rats Are Responsive to a Short Time Leptin Treatment

Abstract: CONCLUSIONS: Genetic deletion of NADPH-oxidase subunit prevented eNOS uncoupling and ROS generation in BMT sickle p47phoxϪ/Ϫ KO mice. Moreover, BMT sickle p47phoxϪ/Ϫ KO mice do not exhibit a priapism phenotype associated with sickle cell disease. These data suggest that NADPH-oxidase activation is a key molecular event contributing to NO imbalance in sickle cell disease-associated priapism.
