4 A Human Centered Design Environment for Complex Systems

Abstract: An integrated engineering environment is described wherein capabilities are provided for addressing the role of human operators and decision makers in complex systems. The manner in which the environment supports the implementation of a human engineering process as an integral part of a standard systems engineering process is described. The capabilities of a prototype Human Centered Design Environment currently under development are discussed.
