“…The derived RBE 10 value at the peak value is 2.6 for the broad‐beam case and it is in a good agreement with the value derived earlier using a Bridge microdosimeter in a water phantom for the same carbon ion beam delivery conditions at HIMAC (NIRS) and is close to the value predicted by the TPS (2.5). Also, this value is slightly higher than the one measured by the TEPC, this is due to the much higher spatial resolution of SOI microdosimeter allowing for the elimination of the volume averaging effect. The peak value of the RBE 10 for spot pencil beam was about 2.4, this is slightly less than the value for the broad‐beam, which could be explained by less contribution of scattering in the distal part of the SOBP.…”
