3D graphene network@WO3 nanowire composites: a multifunctional colorimetric and electrochemical biosensing platform

Abstract: A three dimensional graphene network (3DGN)@WO3 nanowire (NW) sensor is proposed which can perform colorimetric and electrochemical sensing techniques to detect H2O2, ascorbic acid and dopamine. The 3DGN provides three functions: anchoring, separating, conducting, while the WO3 NWs maximize surface area and catalyse reactions.

“…Amongst, graphene, a flat monolayer of carbon atoms arranged in a 2D honeycomb lattice, has been confirmed to be an ideal candidate to fabricate composites due to its fascinating properties such as superior electrical conductivity, large surface area and excellent mechanical flexibility [31]. To date, a variety of WO 3 /graphene composites have been successfully synthesized and their photo/electrochemical and catalytic properties have been widely studied [32][33][34][35][36][37][38]. However, the incorporation of hierarchical WO 3 nanostructures with graphene sheets to prepare composites and their electrochemical performances as supercapacitor electrodes have been few investigated [26].…”
