Interpretation of the absorbed constituents and pharmacological effect of Spica Schizonepetae extract on non-small cell lung cancer

Abstract: As a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) with a usage history of over 2,000 years in China, Spica Schizonepetae possesses definite clinical activity in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, its active ingredients and mechanism of action remain unclear at present. The further exploration of its active components and underlying mechanism will provide a basis for the development of candidate anti-tumor drugs. Our previous study explored the chemical constituents of Spica Schizonepetae extra… Show more

“…Analysis of serum markers exhibited ascending concentrations of ALT, AST, and CREA in mice of the DDP group while descending levels in the DDP + YFSJ group ( Figure 5(d) ). Pathologically, the spleen was compensatively enlarged due to the retention of immunocytes in the spleen [ 43 ]. As a result, the spleen index of mice in the TC group was the highest.…”

“…To study the correlation between the metabolites in different flower bud differentiation stages of M. liliiflora ‘Hongyuanbao’, Pearson correlations were used to calculate the degree of similarity within metabolite profiles in the three different developmental stages. MetaboAnalyst 4.0 ( http://www.metaboanalyst.ca ) [ 33 ] was used to map the correlation network among metabolites. S1, S2, S3 and S4, S5, S6 represented the early (undifferentiation), middle (sepal differentiation and petal differentiation), and later (stamen differentiation and pistil differentiation) stages of the first and second bud differentiation respectively.…”

“…Therefore, based on the clear study of the chemical components contained in LFE in the early stage, the current experiment adopts the research method of serum pharmaceutical chemistry and UPLC-QTOF-MS technology for analyzing its absorbed components into the blood, aiming to clarify its active components that play the anti-tumor role ( Wang et al, 2021 ; Xu et al, 2021 ). Furthermore, the anti-liver cancer effect of LFE was comprehensively evaluated from the changes of physiological, pathological and biochemical indexes.…”
