Quality Control of the Fuzi Lizhong Pill Through Simultaneous Determination of 16 Major Bioactive Constituents by RRLC–MS-MS

Abstract: Fuzi Lizhong pill (FLP) is used to treat gastritis, and the monarch drug of it is Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata (Fuzi, aconite roots) which is a toxic herbal medicine. To better control the safety and quality of FLP, an effective method to analyze the contents of 16 toxic and bioactive components using rapid resolution liquid chromatography-tandem triple-quadrupole mass spectrometer was established. The 16 constituents included aconine, mesaconine, hypaconitine, benzoylaconine, benzoylmesaconine, benzoylh… Show more

“…At the same time, the Chinese Pharmacopoeia published over the years also stipulated that toxic aconitine components in FLZP should be strictly controlled. Researchers also used RRLC-MS-MS to detect aconitine components in FLZP so as to improve the quality control standard ( Dong et al, 2018 ). FLZP has also been proven to be effective in treating IBS-D in modern clinical applications ( Ye, 2010 ; Zheng et al, 2019 ; Meng and Guo, 2019 ).…”

“…Various high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) methods were reported for the determination of 6-GIN in plant extracts, commercial food products, and commercial formulations [ 1 , 2 , 9 , 10 , 11 , 12 , 13 , 14 ]. Different liquid chromatography mass-spectrometry (LC-MS) methods were applied for the analysis of 6-GIN, either alone or in combination with other ginger compounds in plant extracts and commercial formulations [ 15 , 16 , 17 , 18 , 19 ]. Some high-performance thin layer chromatography (HPTLC) methods have also been reported for the determination of 6-GIN in ginger extract, commercial foods, and commercial formulations [ 20 , 21 , 22 ].…”
