18F-FDG PET/CT of Generalized Arteritis

Abstract: A 75-year-old man presented with significant weight loss, persistent cough, single episode of frontotemporal pulsatile headache, and leg weakness. A paraneoplastic syndrome was suspected, and F-FDG PET/CT was performed. Diffuse, moderate-to-intense tracer symmetrical uptake of many large and medium arteries was unexpectedly noted. The peculiarity of this case is the extensive involvement of both large and medium head and neck and extremity vessels, whereas the aorta was relatively spared.
