This paper aims to assess important forest parameters, including tree density, diameter at breast height (DBH), and age distribution, investigate the dynamic growth of miombo tree species, and employ this information to design a management framework in miombo forests. The delineation of the management zones was based on unsupervised land cover classification that began with three zones where ground data was collected and increased to five zones. Eighteen circular plots (25.2 m radius) were randomly distributed over the study areas to assess the current situation and potential growth patterns for each species. The patterns of the six most representative tree species of miombo in Angola were described and we used KORFiT 2.4 software to fit data and develop growth curves for at least three miombo species. Growth function fitness was evaluated by root mean squared error (RMSE), coefficient of determination (R 2 ), significance of the parameters (p < 0.05), and Akaike's information criterion (AIC). The diameter distribution of miombo tree species resembled a typical distribution of uneven-aged forest stands; higher DBH classes had lower abundances of tree species. Logistic and Gompertz growth functions were the best fits for miombo tree species. Brachystegia spiciformis Benth., is suggested as a potential species for timber management in the region because they displayed high growth potential to more quickly reach an assumed minimum DBH of 20 cm. This study concluded that miombo forest stands present an irregular structure in which DBH distribution illustrated only two patterns: many small stems and a bimodal forest structure.

This study aims to evaluate the current conservation and use status in a nature park and to develop planning strategies that will provide sustainable use of protected areas for the future. Suuçtu Nature Park in Bursa Province Mustafakemalpaşa district was chosen as the study area. The method of the study consisted of three stages. In the first stage, the current situation was revealed by conducting fieldwork, observations, and interviews. In the second stage, SWOT analysis was carried out to determine the recreational opportunities offered by the area and to evaluate the potential of the study area. It has been determined by SWOT analysis that Suuçtu Nature Park is a strong character due to its unspoiled natural and cultural values, ideal climate characteristics, geological structure and high visual landscape value. In the third stage, conservation and tourism strategies for the future were developed with the TOWS matrix. As a result of the study, by considering the protection and usage conditions of the area, land use strategies have been developed in line with ecological-based tourism and recreation uses in the protected areas.

Recently, Kuala Lumpur (KL) urban green space essentially was converted to artificial surface due to the urbanization process. The scarcity land in the city besides government new initiatives on infrastructure and affordable housing scheme has put an extra demands and request for developments to enter green spaces zone throughout the city’s boundary. This study aimsto review the literature on green space issues in KL, as well as to explore the use of Geographical Information System (GIS) that could provide a comprehensive and reliability information of green space predominantly used by urban planners and decision makers. There is a need for Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) to map and monitor the gazetted green spaces changes aided by advance technology to ensure the city were plan well and developed in a sustainable way. The technology is extensively used for managing, controlling and mapping the urban green spaces changes and effectively use as an aided tool for planners in planning the green space developments effectively.
