Preoperative radioactive seed localization of nonpalpable soft tissue masses: an established localization technique with a new application

Abstract: RSL is an effective, reliable, and safe technique for preoperative localization of nonpalpable soft tissue masses and yields high patient and surgeon satisfaction.

“…To our knowledge, this article presents the first results of detecting and imaging the lower energy gamma photons emitted by 125 I seeds currently being used for RSL surgical procedures with a SFOV HGC.
