“…Treatment of hypertension, DM and dyslipidaemia in patients with CKD can reduce the occurrence of cardiovascular events and improve associated outcomes. 23 Given the links between these diseases, the high proportion of heart and cerebrovascular disease observed in the case group may be expected. In theory, CKD in patients with many comorbidities should progress more rapidly from stage I-IIIa to IIIb than those with fewer comorbidities.…”

“…The multitude of interactions between serum lipids and the axis of renal inflammation and fibrosis have made modulation of lipid metabolism and reduction of non‐HDL lipoproteins a primary therapeutic target in the management of CKD in people . Lipid‐lowering statins decrease the incidence of cardiovascular disease, myocardial infarctions, and strokes in people with renal disease . Statins are also under investigation in human patients as agents to decrease renal injury .…”

“…1 Lipid-lowering statins decrease the incidence of cardiovascular disease, myocardial infarctions, and strokes in people with renal disease. 29 Statins are also under investigation in human patients as agents to decrease renal injury. 30 These drugs, or other means of lipid modulation, also may prove beneficial in dogs.…”

“…It can occur as a complication of CRF as a result of ROD. [4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11] ROD is a frequent long-term complication of renal disease that can induce a broad spectrum of bone metabolism disorders associated with different pathogenic pathways. The symptoms of ROD comprise bone demineralization with trabeculation and cortical loss, giant cell radiotransparencies, or metastatic calcifications of the soft tissues.…”
