1988 Compilation of Elemental Concentration Data for Usgs Agv‐1, Gsp‐1 and G‐2

Abstract: Concentration data on up to 90 individual constituents in USGS AGV‐1, GSP‐1, and G‐2 have been collected from 1270 journal articles and technical reports. These data are summarized in consensus (mean) values with uncertainties expressed as +/‐ one standard deviation. Mean values are also calculated as a function of analytical procedure and all raw data are given in the tables. Recommended values are proposed based upon data criteria used by NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology, formerly the Nat… Show more

“…These results were compared with those reported by Verma and Cruz-Huicochea (2013) from the t test and by Gladney et al (1992) from the 2s method. We note that the comparison of the ANOVA, F-t, and 2s methods should, however, be better or more objectively performed if the ANOVA and F-t tests were applied at a less strict 95% confidence level.…”

“…This application therefore will allow the user to compare the results of application of ANOVA (this work) with the combined application of F and t tests (Verma and Cruz-Huicochea, 2013). Although it is customary to present major-element data as oxides, we have shown them as elements, because the compilation by Gladney et al (1992), which lists the data as elements, was used initially. Thus, because these authors had compiled the major-elements as elements (%), we continued their "unconventional" approach in this work.…”

“…Geochemical data for major-and trace-elements in RM are generally obtained from the application of different analytical methods in laboratories worldwide (e.g., Gladney et al, 1991Gladney et al, , 1992Imai et al, 1995;Velasco-Tapia et al, 2001;Marroquín-Guerra et al, 2009;Pandarinath, 2009a).…”
