Abstract:Introduction:The goal of this work is to develop spectroscopic (multi-energy) computed tomography (CT) systems for pre-clinical research. Traditional radiographs CT work by passing a broad spectrum of x-rays through the patient. The radiograph is formed by measuring the total number of x-rays that reach the detector (e.g. film). However, it has been known for a long time that x-rays come in different energies, also called wavelengths, frequency or colors.
Methods:Our system uses the latest x-ray detectors from… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
