Large Accumulation of Collagen and Increased Activation of Mast Cells in Hearts of Mice with Hyperlipidemia

Abstract: BackgroundHyperlipidemia, which is characterized by an elevation of lipids in the bloodstream, is a major risk factor for cardiac disease.ObjectivesThe present study investigated the role of fibrosis in the progression of hyperlipidemia in the mice heart, and whether mast cell activation was associated with the fibrosis process.MethodsHyperlipidemia was produced in C57BL / 6 mice by feeding them on a high-fat diet for 8 weeks. To assess tissue fibrosis, picrosirius red staining was performed. Hematoxylin & eosi… Show more

“…In the study of hyperlipidemia on the heart tissue, the expression of chymase increased in the experimental group compared to the control group (5). Studies have shown that MCTCs increase in the urinary bladder lamina propria (25), mucosa, and detrusor layer as a result of interstitial cystitis (38).…”

“…Cell proliferation was measured in real-time using the xCELLigence system (Roche Applied Science, Penzberg, Germany) ( 18 ). This system measures electrical impendence caused by adherent cells to evaluate proliferation in real time ( 19 ).…”

“…Capsaicin was shown to cause a decrease in the number of MC TC s in rat ovarian tissue (44). In an experimental hyperlipidemia study, it was mentioned that chymase expression increased in the experiment group in comparison to the control group (7). It has also been shown that trauma, which stimulates the immune system, causes an increase in the number of MC TC s (45).…”
