RESUMO Objetivo Estimar a ocorrência do contato pele a pele imediato e sua associação aos fatores sociodemográficos, obstétricos, assistenciais e de nascimento em uma maternidade da Zona da Mata Mineira. Método Estudo transversal realizado com 222 primíparas por meio de entrevista e dados do prontuário. Os dados foram codificados, categorizados, digitados e analisados pelo programa Epi info 7.0. Utilizou-se a regressão logística múltipla. Resultados A ocorrência do contato pele a pele imediato foi de 30% e foi associado ao: profissional do parto não ser o mesmo do pré-natal (OR 3,17; IC 95% 1,52 -6,62), presença de acompanhante (OR 3,35; IC 95% 1,67-6,73) e realização de parto normal (OR 15,59; IC 95% 7,50-32,41). Conclusão e implicações para a prática É primordial incentivar o parto normal, sensibilizar profissionais e empoderar as mulheres sobre o direito do acompanhante e contato pele a pele, pois este minimiza as intervenções na primeira hora, estimula o vínculo e promove a amamentação.

RESUMO Objetivo Analisar a associação das práticas assistenciais realizadas por profissionais obstétricos com os níveis de bem-estar/mal-estar materno. Método Estudo quantitativo, realizado em uma Unidade de Pré-Parto/Parto/Pós-parto de um Hospital de Ensino com puérperas de parto normal. Foi realizada associação entre as práticas obstétricas e os níveis de bem-estar/mal-estar materno. Resultados Participaram 104 puérperas. As práticas obstétricas que trouxeram mal-estar as parturientes e que obtiveram significância estatística foram: realização de amniotomia (p=0,018), realização de episiotomia (p=0,05), adoção de posições horizontalizadas no período expulsivo (p=0,04), a não utilização de tecnologias não invasivas de cuidado (p=0,029) e o não contato pele a pele mãe-filho (p=0,002). Para a maioria das mulheres, a presença de acompanhante favoreceu o bem-estar, mesmo não tendo uma associação significativamente estatística. Após a realização de regressão logística a não realização de amniotomia foi a única variável que se mostrou significância no bem-estar materno. Conclusão Práticas obstétricas humanizadas têm maior potencial de promover bem-estar materno. Nota-se a importância da enfermeira obstétrica na realização de práticas que proporcionam maior bem-estar às parturientes.

[27,28] The early contact is a cost-effective process to improve the quality of care, and is one of the basic steps in achieving Millennium Development Goals 4 and 5 of lowering the mortality of the child and improvement of maternal health. [29] The present study results revealed a statistically positive effect of SSC in relation to many factors during the third stage of labor that include complete placental separation, immediate uterine contraction after birth, uterus position between umbilicus and pubic bone, absent of any abnormal signs of uterine atony or postpartum hemorrhage and requiring methargene to cause uterine contraction.…”

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of early maternal /newborn skin-to-skin contact after birth on the duration of third stage of labor and initiation of breastfeeding. A non-randomized controlled clinical trial was conducted at a labor and delivery unit of National Medical Institution in Damanhour, Albehera Governorate, Egypt. A purposive sample of 100 laboring women was recruited. The project included a study group (50) who considered skin-to-skin contact (SSC) and a control group (50) who received routine hospital care. Three tools were used to collect data. The first tool was a structured interview to elicit socio-demographic and obstetric characteristic. Second tool was an assessment of mothers during the third stage of labor. Third tool was the Breastfeeding Assessment Tool, which comprised two parts: The Infant Breastfeeding Assessment Tool (IBFAT): and the outcome assessment of first breastfeeding. The results revealed that success in first breastfeeding was higher among study group compared to control group. There are statistically significant differences between the study and control groups in third stage of labor duration, complete placental separation, and immediate contraction of the uterus, position of uterus, absence of any abnormal signs such as uterine atony or excessive blood loss. The mean duration of the third stage of labor in the study group was significantly shorter (2.8 ± 0.857 minutes) than among those in the control group (11.22 ± 3.334 minutes) (p < .01). The study concluded that mothers who practice early maternal/newborn SSC immediately after birth experience shorter duration of the third stage of labor and early successful initiation of breastfeeding. Consequently, it is recommended that a continuous educational and training program be provided to all midwives and nurses working in the delivery room about the implementation of SSC for all mothers, and clarify the benefits for the mother and her neonate.
