Hepcidin: an important iron metabolism regulator in chronic kidney disease

Abstract: Anemia is a common complication and its impact on morbimortality in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) is well known. The discovery of hepcidin and its functions has contributed to a better understanding of iron metabolism disorders in CKD anemia.
