The degradation of Cerrado biome has been increasing the demand for high quality tree seedlings, so that it is necessary to understand the nutritional requirements of these plants. Hymenaea courbaril L., known as jatobá, has a wide distribution that makes it an alternative of reforestation of degraded areas. The aim of the experiment was to evaluate H. courbaril initial growth and gas exchange characteristics under different potassium concentrations (K+). The experiment was arranged in a completely randomized design with five treatments (T0- 0, T1- 3, T2- 6, T3-9 e T4- 12 mM of K+) and four repetitions. Growth measurements were carried out every 15 days. SPAD index and gas exchange measurements were evaluated at 0, 30, and 60 days after treatment imposition. At the end of the experimental period, dry matter was evaluated, and root: shoot ratio (R:S) and Dickson quality index (DQI) were calculated The data were subjected to a one-way ANOVA and by Tukey’s test (P<0.05). The growth characteristics did not show significant difference with different concentrations of K+. At 0 and 30 days the photosynthetic traits were not different. However, at 60 days the absent- (T0), lower- (T1), and hyper- (T4) K+ concentration showed a reduction in SPAD index and gas exchanges parameters, confirming the role of this nutrient in the photosynthetic activity. Thus, regardless the K+ doses during 60 days, H. courbaril reached the growth requirements of field plantations. However, after this period the plant survival could be decreased in low K+ availability conditions.

Resumo: A utilização de substratos pode garantir mudas com características morfológicas adequadas para o plantio no campo. Diante disso, realizou-se experimento em viveiro com o objetivo de avaliar a influência da utilização de calcário e diferentes formulações de adubos na produção de mudas de Eucalyptus camaldulensis. As mudas da espécie foram produzidas em tubetes com capacidade para 160 cm³, oriundas de sementes que foram colocadas para germinar em areia e vermiculita. Ao atingirem 15 cm de altura, as plantas foram transplantadas para os tratamentos testados: T1 -100% Plantmax®; T2 -Plantmax® + NPK + calcário; T3-Plantmax® + calcário + N; T4 -Plantmax® + calcário + P; T5 -Plantmax® + calcário + K; T6 -Plantmax® + N; T7 -Plantmax® + P; T8 -Plantmax® + K; T9 -Plantmax® + calcário, com dez repetições, dispostos em delineamento inteiramente casualizado. A avaliação do crescimento se deu 90 dias após o começo das análises, com as medições de: altura, diâmetro de coleto, biomassa e, concentrações de macronutrientes e de B. Verificou-se que é importante atentar para a utilização de Plantmax® como substrato, pois o mesmo não disponibiliza nutrientes em concentrações adequadas para todas as espécies. As melhores condições para a produção de mudas de E. camaldulensis foi com substrato contendo Plantmax® + calcário + N; Plantmax® + calcário + P; Plantmax® + N; ou Plantmax® + P. Mineral fertilization and limestone on the growth of Eucalyptus camaldulensis seedlingsAbstract: The use of substrates can produce seedlings with adequate morphological characteristics for planting in the field. Therefore, experiment was realized in a nursery in order to evaluate the use of limestone and different fertilizer formulations on the production of Eucalyptus camaldulensis seedlings. The seedlings of the specie were produced in tubetes with a capacity to 160 cm³, originating of seeds that were placed to germinate in sand and vermiculite. The best conditions for the seedlings production of E. camaldulensis were with substrate containing Plantmax® + calcário + N; Plantmax® + calcário + P; Plantmax® + N; or Plantmax® + P.

A B S T R A C TThis study analyzed the initial growth of baru in nutrient solutions with individualized omission of mineral nutrients in greenhouse. The experimental design was completely randomized with 13 treatments and four replicates: Complete Hoagland & Arnon solution and with individualized omissions of N, P, K, Ca, Mg, S, B, Cu, Fe, Mn, Mo and Zn. At 60 days the following morphological characteristics were evaluated: height, root collar diameter, number of leaves and number of leaflets. In addition, the Dickson quality index and root/shoot ratio were calculated and root dry matter, shoot dry matter and the contents and accumulations of nutrients in the shoots of the seedlings were analyzed. Analysis of variance of the collected data was performed using the computational program Sisvar. The growth of baru seedlings, except for the variable height, was influenced by the omission of nutrients in the nutrient solution and the main limiting nutrients are K, Ca, Mg, Fe, Mn, and Mo. The absorption of nutrients by baru plants occurs differently under the individualized nutritional omissions applied to the nutrient solution.Crescimento e nutrição mineral do baru (Dipteryx alata Vogel) em solução nutritiva R E S U M O Analisou-se, neste trabalho, o crescimento inicial do baru em solução nutritiva com omissão individualizada dos nutrientes minerais em casa de vegetação. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi o inteiramente casualizado com 13 tratamentos e quatro repetições, sendo: Solução Hoagland & Arnon completa e omissões individualizadas de N, P, K, Ca, Mg, S, B, Cu, Fe, Mn, Mo e Zn. Avaliaram-se, aos 60 dias após, a instalação do experimento, características morfológicas: altura, diâmetro do coleto, número de folhas e de folíolos. Foram calculados o índice de Dickson e a relação da massa seca da raiz/massa seca da parte aérea. A massa seca das raízes e da parte aérea foi determinada e analisados os teores e acúmulo de nutrientes na parte aérea das mudas. Realizou-se a análise de variância dos dados coletados por meio do programa computacional Sisvar. O crescimento de mudas de baru, com exceção da variável altura, foi influenciado pela omissão de nutrientes na solução nutritiva sendo os principais nutrientes limitantes o K, Ca, Mg, Fe, Mn e Mo. A absorção dos nutrientes pelo baru ocorre de forma diferenciada em função das omissões nutricionais individualizadas aplicadas à solução de cultivo.
