In this article, the authors examines the application of geomaterials in road constructions, it economic indicators, the dependence of surface density and unit cost, as well as strength and unit cost, are analyzed. The economic and technical advantages of using woven geomaterials are shown. Geosynthetic materials allow increasing the strength of road structures and reducing the cost of construction while maintaining strength and reliability. Geogrid road has all the permits and technical documentation: the calculation methods are developed for the solution of road construction. Woven geomaterials are the best to use and have a number of advantages, but now nonwoven geomaterials are usually used in Russia, which is caused by imperfect design methods that do not take into account the strength of the geomaterial and reduce the density of pavement when using thick geomaterials. Geomaterials are geosynthetic products for strengthening slopes, slopes, coastal zones, road surfaces and other territories that need strengthening of soils. Geomaterials, among other things, are an excellent protection against erosion, environmentally safe, reliable, have a long useful life and are easily installed. Depending on the needs and type of territory, geogrids, geomatics and road geosets are used.

Abstract. This article considers the main types of global environmental problems as crisis ecological situations that are relevant for the entire planet, the solution of which is possible only with the participation of all humanity. Global environmental problems closely related to other global world problems, they affect each other and the emergence of some leads to the emergence or aggravation of others. The paper is concerned that such a complex world problem as the demographic caused by the explosive growth of the world's population leads to a sharp increase in the burden on the environment due to an increase in people's needs for food, energy, housing, industrial goods, etc. Obviously, without solving the demographic problem, without stabilizing the population, it is impossible to restrain the development of crisis ecological processes on the planet. In turn, the ecological problems of desertification, deforestation, causing degradation and loss of agricultural land, lead to an aggravation of the world food problem. The ecological danger of such global problem as military is great. In this article, we have determined that environmental degradation leads to significant economic costs as a result of degradation of natural resources, pollution, deterioration of public health.

Resumo: A Lei 12.305, promulgada em 02 de agosto de 2010, surge como um marco regulatório junto às questões de resíduos sólidos no Brasil. Ela designou aos municípios a elaboração de planos de gestão de resíduos na tentativa de solucionar os problemas até então enfrentados pela administração local. Contudo, notada as variadas dificuldades municipais em atender as exigências da Política Nacional de Resíduos Sólidos (PNRS), o artigo visa analisar o caso do município de Araraquara-SP, por meio da investigação de seu Plano Municipal de Gestão Integrada de Resíduos Sólidos (PMGIRS) sob a ótica do cumprimento do Artigo 19 da PNRS, que compreende o conteúdo mínimo dos planos municipais, bem como a aplicação da Matriz SWOT com base em entrevistas com gestores do Departamento Autônomo de Água e Esgotos (DAAE) e Cooperativa Acácia, principais órgãos envolvidos na gestão de resíduos sólidos do município. Tais procedimentos tiveram como objetivo contribuir com a construção do cenário local de resíduos sólidos em Araraquara. Resultados evidenciam que o município organizou um estudo nos moldes do Artigo 19 em seu PMGIRS, fixando diretrizes e metas para cada tipo de resíduo sólido encontrado no território. Indicadores apontam que Araraquara, com o passar dos anos, vem se adequando aos preceitos da PNRS e apesar da infraestrutura básica já instalada, o município precisa expandir os investimentos se deseja cumprir as metas declaradas no plano, bem como promover o aprimoramento, modernização e integração do sistema municipal de resíduos sólidos.Palavras-chave: Política Nacional de Resíduos Sólidos; Gestão Municipal de Resíduos Sólidos; Araraquara-SP.Municipal plan for the integrated management of solid waste in Araraquara-sp: elaboration and implementation Abstract: Law 12,305, promulgated on August 2, 2010, appears as a regulatory framework on solid waste issues in Brazil. It has assigned to the municipalities the elaboration of plans of waste management in an attempt to solve the problems until now faced by the local administration. However, noting the varied municipal difficulties in meeting the requirements of the National Solid Waste Policy (NSWP), the article aims to analyze the case of the municipality of Araraquara-SP, by means of the investigation of its Municipal Plan for the Integrated Management of Solid Waste from the point of view of compliance with Article 19 of the NSWP, which includes the minimum content of the municipal plans, as well as the application of the SWOT Matrix based on interviews with managers of the Departamento Autônomo de Água e Esgotos (DAAE) and Cooperativa Acácia, involved in the municipal solid waste management.
