Show more

“…The agreement between these methods with respect to the GCA can be evaluated based on the magnitude of their associations (Griffing x PC1 = 0.81; Griffing x REML/BLUP = 0.99 and PC1 x REML/BLUP = 0.89) ( Table 3). A positive correlation between Griffing and REML/BLUP (Valério et al, 2009;Nascimento et al, 2010;Baldissera et al, 2012) and between Griffing and GGE biplot (Darvishzadeh et al, 2009;Bocánski et al, 2011) was also observed by other authors. The combination CD 150 x Fundacep Cristalino presented the highest observed (5521 kg ha -1 ) and predicted (5437 kg ha -1 ) GY averages, and positive values for SCA according to the Griffing, multivariate (PC1, PC2 and PC3) and REML/BLUP analysis (Table 2).…”

“…It implies that the wheat parents used in this study have complementary genes, and these traits can be assessed together in the diallel analysis. Significant effects of the GCA and SCA based on multivariate diallel analysis also were observed by Benin et al (2009) and Nascimento et al (2010) in wheat and sweet pepper, respectively.…”

“…For HGT, the mean square of specific heterosis was significant (P < 0.01). According to Nascimento et al (2010), the significant difference between groups and the significant effect of specific heterosis on HGT, indicates the participation of additive and non-additive effects on this trait.…”

“…To overcome this restriction, a multivariate diallel approach can be performed, enabling the study of two or more traits simultaneously (Ledo et al 2003). Research studies applying multivariate diallel analysis are available for several important crops, including wheat (Benin et al 2009), sweet passionfruit (Jung et al 2007), popcorn (Gonçalves et al 2014), Jatropha (Teodoro et al 2017) sweet pepper (Nascimento et al 2010) andsoybean (Amaral et al 2004).…”
