Flipped learning methodology has the potential to be combined with a multitude of didactic actions and techno-pedagogical resources that are adapted to the needs of the student. Access to resources and training outside the classroom can be carried out from various platforms. Following this line, Twitch is an interactive video transmission platform that is presented as an interesting digital resource to enhance the motivation of students in turning over learning moments. The objective of the study is to analyze the motivation of students in two different methodological approaches, one traditional and the other innovative through the Twitch application. A quasi-experimental pre-post design was carried out. A total of 52 Spanish students from the fourth level of secondary education participated in the research. Data collection was carried out by adapting the Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ) instrument to the Spanish context. The results reflect higher levels of motivation in the implementation of Twitch with respect to its materialization without using said techno-pedagogical complement. This difference is especially significant in intrinsic motivation, since in the case of extrinsic motivation, the difference between both pedagogical proposals is smaller. In short, the implementation of Twitch in the flipped learning supposes an optimization of this pedagogical methodology, increasing the extrinsic and intrinsic motivation of the students and modifying the centers of interest of students from quantitative aspects to other, qualitative ones.

Starting from the guiding principles of innovation as pillars for updating and achieving educational excellence, it is pertinent to highlight the need to generate new ways of conducting educational processes in order to respond to the interests of students in the digital age. In this line, one of the most pioneering novelties generated by the technological revolution has been the metaverse, a virtual world in which - through digital devices - a great immersive experience and total interaction with its elements is generated in the user. Due to its short history, the potential of the metaverse in education is yet to be explored. The aim of this project is to create an educational metaverse to develop didactic content for different curricular subjects, in order to raise the teaching and learning process to a higher level of immersion and innovation. To achieve this, a specific didactic methodology will be designed and implemented for training in the metaverse, as well as the development and implementation of a competence training plan for the creation and use of virtual classrooms. In this way, knowledge can be generated and transferred in the metaverse by improving the psycho-educational skills of students, promoting inclusive education, and improving attention to diversity. The methodology that the project will follow will be based on collaborative work and the principle of autonomy for the effective deployment of project and problem-based learning for the delivery of didactic content and the achievement of learning objectives. All this will be based on a systematic strategy for monitoring and evaluating the development of the project and its impact.

Este artículo académico examina el panorama actual de realidades extendidas y el metaverso en instituciones de educación superior en América Latina. La investigación se basa en un enfoque cualitativo que incluye la revisión de literatura académica seleccionada y un diseño narrativo para explorar proyectos educativos en realidades extendidas en países como Perú, Chile, Colombia, México, Ecuador y España. El estudio identifica los proyectos, desafíos y limitaciones que enfrentan estas instituciones y examina sus perspectivas en la construcción de un metaverso educativo. Los resultados de la investigación incluyen un análisis de las plataformas de proto metaversos utilizadas y proyecciones sobre la educación en el metaverso. Además, se proponen lineamientos metodológicos destinados a orientar a aquellos interesados en la educación y las nuevas tecnologías sobre cómo involucrarse en las realidades extendidas y prepararse para el surgimiento del edu-metaverso. Se enfatiza la importancia de comprender estas nuevas plataformas, a pesar de que las metaversidades puedan parecer distantes para América Latina. Se destaca que las desigualdades en el acceso a la tecnología y la educación podrían agravarse si no se abordan adecuadamente en el desarrollo del metaverso, lo que podría ampliar aún más la brecha digital en la región.
