Recipient site preparation for epidermal graft in stable vitiligo by a special fraise

Abstract: BACKGROUNDThe only approach used in the refractory lesions of stable vitiligo is the surgical supply of melanocytes. Suction Blistering Epidermal Graft is one of the most common and effective techniques. There are multiple modalities, including the motor-driven diamond fraise, for the preparation of recipient sites in suction blistering epidermal graft with different repigmentation rates and complications.OBJECTIVESTo evaluate preparation of recipient site by a motor-driven dental lab finishing carbide bur.MET… Show more

“…Perigraft halo commonly arise with it due to shrinkage of suctioned donor epidermis after removing the sustained negative pressure and due to the inhibitory effects of liquid nitrogen on the melanocytes of peripheral pigmented epidermis [40] . 1.3 Split-thickness skin grafts (STSGs) are carried out by harvesting a thin or ultrathin layer of epidermis from the donor site that is 10% to 20% larger than the recipient site.…”

“…In recent years’ surgical interventions such as autologous non-cultured melanocyte grafting (ANCMG) and suction blister epidermal grafting (SBEG) were developed for the treatment of stable vitiligo. 1 , 2 But vitiligo patches on problematic-to-treat areas, such as male genital even with this method may be with poor outcomes. 2 , 3 …”
