Show more

“…Millet and common bean provided higher soybean grain yield (4,772 kg ha -1 and 5,200 kg ha -1 , respectively), while the soybean yield was 3,708 kg ha -1 , when grown after palisade grass (Oliveira et al 2013a). Corn yield was higher after common bean (8,133 kg ha -1 ), differing from millet (6,601 kg ha -1 ) and palisade grass (6,801 kg ha -1 ) (Oliveira et al 2013b).…”

“…The cover crops used here generate different amounts of straw distributed over the soil, as previously reported by Oliveira et al (2013b). Palisade grass generates 7,792 kg ha -1 , millet 5,371 kg ha -1 and common bean 4,926 kg ha -1 of straw.…”

“…The technique also assesses photosynthetic production by means of dry matter accumulation, allowing a better understanding of the factors that affect grain yield (URCHEI; RODRIGUES; STONE, 2000;FALQUETO et al, 2009;NASCENTE, 2012a;OLIVEIRA et al, 2013). Furthermore, grain yield in rice and other cereals is related to the amount of CO 2 fixed by the plant and to the partitioning of the photosynthesized substrate for the growth of grains and of other plant organs (TAIZ;ZEIGER, 2009;CONCENÇO et al, 2011;FAGERIA;MORAES;VASCONCELOS, 2011).Thus, the objective of this study was to assess the influence of the application of trinexapac-ethyl on upland rice crops through the analysis of plant growth and gas exchange.…”
