The need to obtain multi-products from the forest makes the wood processing an important step in the timber harvest, being necessary, then, to understand the influence of the stand characteristics on the operational performance of the machines. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of the individual tree volume on the operational performance of the harvester forest processor in Pinus taeda L. stands, in order to assist in planning operations and reducing production costs. The analyzes were carried out by means of a time and motion study, determining the time consumed in the phases of the operational cycle, mechanical availability, operational efficiency, productivity, and production costs in three stands with different individual mean volumes (IMV): I (1.21 m3 tree-1); II (1.34 m3 tree-1) and III (1.61 m3 tree-1). In a completely randomized design, the averages of the variables were compared, as well as models for estimating productivity and production costs were fitted according to individual tree volume. The results showed that the processing element consumed a significant part of the total operational cycle time, with 46, 53 and 64% in treatments I, II and III, respectively, with an average operational efficiency of 56% in all treatments. Productivity increase and reduction of production costs were observed in the order of 43 and 30%, respectively, with the increase in IMV from 1.21 to 1.61 m3 tree-1. Such behavior can be represented by the third degree polynomial, which demonstrated the operational limit of 1.5 m3 tree-1 for the harvester forest processor.

Na colheita florestal, independente do grau de mecanização, o trabalho humano estará sempre presente, o que exige um planejamento para diminuir os índices de acidentes do trabalho. Nesse contexto essa pesquisa aplicou a metodologia denominada de Processo de Avaliação de Risco em Colheita Florestal (PARCF) para identificar, analisar e avaliar os riscos ocupacionais que se originam na atividade de colheita florestal semimecanizada e mecanizada, de forma a contribuir para o planejamento e implantação de um sistema de controle. A aplicação do PARCF em colheita florestal em atividade semimecanizada indicou a seguinte categoria de risco: quatro baixos, três moderados, oito altos, e nenhum crítico. A operação de corte com motosserra foi considerada a de nível de risco mais elevado. Para a avaliação da atividade de colheita mecanizada o resultado indicou a seguinte categoria de risco: cinco baixos; sete moderados; onze altos e nenhum risco crítico. A operação de corte e carregamento de árvores e o deslocamento da máquina foram consideradas as atividades com nível de risco mais elevado. Os principais controles para a proteção ao trabalhador são os treinamentos, realização da atividade conforme procedimento estabelecido previamente, manutenção das máquinas, utilização dos equipamentos de proteção individual e sinalização sonora das máquinas.

RESUMO:Objetivou-se com o presente trabalho realizar uma análise técnica e econômica de dois subsistemas de colheita florestal de toras curtas. O subsistema 1 era composto por harvester e forwarder, já o subsistema 2 era formado pelas máquinas feller-buncher, harvester e forwarder. A partir da análise técnica foi determinado o rendimento das máquinas, eficiência operacional e disponibilidade mecânica. A análise econômica baseou-se na determinação do custo operacional, custo de produção e taxa interna de retorno. O subsistema 2 apresentou maior rendimento por hora efetiva de trabalho. Os valores de disponibilidade mecânica e eficiência operacional não foram afetados pela composição do subsistema, sendo os mesmos considerados satisfatórios. O subsistema 2 apresentou maiores valores de custo operacional (US$ 254,02 he -1 ) e custo de produção (US$ 5,16 m -3 ). O subsistema 1 demonstrou ser mais eficiente, tanto técnica como economicamente, na colheita de madeira. Já o módulo constituído por feller-buncher, harvester e forwarder apresentou alto rendimento, custo de produção competitivo e alta taxa interna de retorno. Índices que o indicam como alternativa a ser empregada no sistema de colheita florestal de toras curtas. The subsystem 1 consisted of harvester and forwarder, since the subsystem 2 was formed by the machines fellerbuncher, harvester and forwarder. From the technical analysis it was determined the performance of the machinery, operational efficiency and mechanical availability. The economic analysis was based on the determination of the operating cost, production cost and internal rate of return. The subsystem 2 has a higher yield per effective hour of work. The mechanical values availability and operational efficiency were not affected by the subsystem composition, and the same satisfactory. The subsystem 2 showed the highest values of operating cost (US$ 254.02 he) and production cost (US$ 5.16 m -3 ). The subsystem 1 proved to be more efficient, both technically and economically, in wood harvesting, but the module consists of feller-buncher, harvester and forwarder presented high performance, cost competitive production and high internal rate of return, indices that indicate the same as an alternative to be used in forest harvesting cut to lenght system.
