“…These data suggest that is more difficult control the fluoridation from AWs than WTPs, in agreement with the data from other studies conducted in Capão Bonito 27 and Araçatuba, SP. 28 However, in terms of the risk of fluorosis, the findings showed that only one sample from one month was within the range of high risk of fluorosis for water from AWs (14% in September) and from the WTP (5% in March).…”

“…Several studies recommend Oral Health Surveillance (Narvai, 2000;Zimmer et al, 2003;Lima et al, 2004;Moimaz et al, 2015;Frazão et al, 2018) for an external control besides operational control, thus providing the achievement of reliable results regarding fluoride levels (Ramires and Buzalaf, 2007;CECOL, 2011;Frazão et al, 2018), enhancing this public health strategy, promoting anti-carie coverage, and preventing fluorosis. Fluoridation control by institutions not involved directly in its operation is an essential condition to preserve the quality of the process and for information credibility (Lima et al, 2004;Olivati et al, 2011).…”

“…Em relação à concentração do fluoreto, considerar que esse parâmetro possui elevada estabilidade (Prado et al 1992), pode ajudar a reduzir o número de pontos de coleta de amostras com importante implicação para os custos da iniciativa conforme literatura especializada (Narvai 2001;Ely et al 2002;Lima et al 2004;Lodi et al 2006;Toassi et al 2007;Olivati et al 2011).…”
