Germinação de arroz irrigado e de biótipos de arroz-vermelho submetidas a diferentes temperaturas

Abstract: RESUMO -O arroz-vermelho é a principal planta daninha do arroz irrigado, pois afeta a produtividade e qualidade. Show more

“…The weedy rice emergence leads to economical, social and environmental losses (Agostinetto et al, 2005); and since this weed presents morphophysiological similarities to the rice, it is had control effectively with herbicides (Sartori et al, 2014). As for the presence of Echinochloa spp, studies have shown that 20 plants m -2 can reduce rice productivity by a margin up to 80% (Vandevender et al, 1997).…”

“…The highest ADH activity, encoded by the ADH1 and ADH2 genes, has been reported in cold‐tolerant rice cultivars germinated under low‐temperature conditions (Sartori et al ., 2014). Thus, the same tolerance mechanism may be associated with the response to both cold and flooding stresses.…”

“…Interestingly, high ADH activity is also reported in response to cold temperatures during the germination and emergence of rice (Sartori et al, 2014), indicating that the same tolerance mechanism might be involved in response to two different abiotic stresses.…”

“…Areas cultivated with irrigated rice in the state are infested by weeds, and red rice is the main invasive species, directly interfering with yield and remuneration paid to producers. The main difficulty in controlling red rice is because it belongs to the same family as the cultivated rice and, in addition, seed dormancy leads to uneven germination during the rice crop cycle (Rubin et al, 2014;Sartori et al, 2014;Souza et al, 2012).…”
