“…With the help of newly developed high-pressure balloons, assistance of fascial dilators, or by mechanical dilators, difficulty in establishing access may be overcomed 28 . In some other studies, it had been reported that open stone surgery can increase PCNL failure rate 31 , while others showed that previous open stone surgery does not affect PCNL outcome 3234 .…”

“…The mean duration of surgery was 106.34±35.69 minutes in our PNL patients. Reddy et al [24] reported a mean duration of 2.9±0.9 hours (range: 1.5-6 hours) in these procedures. Using an ultrasonographic approach on the renal calyceal system also decreases the operation time.…”

“…Management of patients suffering from urinary tract calculi is a health care problem because of its prevalence and recurrence [1]. Minimally invasive treatments, such as percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL), non-invasive extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL), and laparoscopy procedures have almost completely replaced open surgery in the management of the urinary stone disease [2,3].…”
