Show more

“…In both the follicular and ovulatory phase, VMO was activated after the VL in both tasks. This result is consistent with previous reports that delayed onset time in the VMO is a typical feature in people with PFPS, probably associated with patellar maltracking . In addition, the present findings show that hormonal fluctuations did not significantly affect the difference in onset times between the VL and VMO, given that the onset times showed a parallel pattern of changes during the menstrual cycle.…”

“…Positive differences between vastii muscle onsets were considered to indicate earlier activation of VMO than VL, whereas negative values indicated delayed activation of VMO after VL. Previous studies of patients with PFPS showed that VMO was delayed relative to VL …”

“…This region was slightly scorched in the direction of SCM and upper fibers of trapezius muscles. The literature reports that the skin cleaning aims to reduce the impedance and eliminates any interference from the electrical signal 20,21 . To find the muscle belly, the concentric contraction for each studied muscle was requested, as reference, based on Falla et al 7 and from this, followed by placing the electrodes.…”
